Police are appealing for witnesses after a burglary at a house in Hamilton.

The incident happened between 10pm on Wednesday, March 19 and 6.45am on Thursday, March 20 in Bramble Close when the 34-year-old victim discovered his garage had been broken into.

Kites, worth an estimated £2,000 were stolen in the incident. They included a 6.5 metre Flexifoil kite, worth an estimated £500 and a Kinnell kite in light purple and yellow, worth an estimated £500.

PC Rowena Summers, who is investigating the incident said: "We want to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and saw anything suspicious.

"We know that the victim heard a suspicious noise at around 3.30am and went to investigate but could not see anything suspicious.

"We are also ken to hear from anyone who knows someone who has recently acquired items like these.

"If you have any information at all please get in touch. It could help with our enquiries."
