WALLACE and Gromit will be taking centre stage in a summer programme of events and workshops looking at the magic of animation.
Animated Adventures, which takes place at Leicester's New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, will feature original sets and models from the hugely-successful Wallace and Gromit films.
Visitors will get a behind-the-scenes look at how animators including Aardman - the film makers behind Wallace and Gromit - create their characters and bring them to life.
They will also reveal the industry secrets behind CGI technology, stop-frame animation and set design. The exhibition will also include examples Manga and fantasy animations, and will even give visitors the chance to try creating their own crazy animations.
Animated Adventures will run from June 7 to October 12. Throughout the school summer holidays there will also be a series of related events and workshops.
The Animation Film Festival runs from June to September as part of the programme, and will include a range of workshops, talks, activities and screenings of animated films from across the world.
Many of the activities will also tie in with school's extended services programme of learning. Leicester City Council's cabinet member for culture and leisure, Councillor Andy Connelly, said: "This will be an exciting, fun and very colourful series of events bringing some well-loved characters to life.
"It is a wonderful chance for people in Leicester to learn about the magic of animation and to have a go themselves during the Animation Film Festival. I hope people of all ages make the most of this opportunity and go along to the events on offer, and I look forward to taking my own children along."
