AN OFFICE giving advice and help to residents of a Leicester estate has moved to new premises.
New Parks Neighbourhood Management Office has moved to a new office in Caledine Road, near Aikman Avenue.
The neighbourhood management project, which has been running since 2006, works with local people and organisations to help improve the community.
It helps with services including community safety, employment issues, environmental, health and education services.
The new centre will offer help and information to New Parks residents, along with the use of a computer, a meeting space, and tea and coffee-making facilities.
There are also plans to extend the service to include advice surgeries and volunteer helpers to work throughout the community.
New Parks neighbourhood housing manager, Chrissie Field, said: âWe are only a two-person team but we are supported by a number of community volunteers and the local ward councillors.
âWe are here to make local people aware of a whole range of services within the neighbourhood.
âWe always welcome new community members to join the resident-led neighbourhood panel â local people just need to pop into the office or give us a call.â
The neighbourhood management officeâs move to new premises follows a brief spell during which the service was based in Braunstone because of a lack of available premises.
To contact the new neighbourhood management office, call 0116 299 5362 or email npneighbourhoodmanagement@leicester.gov.uk
