Murder victim named Hannah Fisher

Hannah Fisher

Detectives investigating the murder of a 21-year-old student have released her name.

The body of Hannah Fisher was discovered by police at a house in High Leys Drive, Oadby at 7.45pm on Monday January 19.

Officers had gone to the house in Oadby as part of their investigations into the circumstances surrounding the death of Simon Marsh (22) whose body was discovered at around 5.45pm on Sunday January 18 at the foot of a stairwell at Alexandra House flats in Rutland Street, Leicester.  His death is not being treated as suspicious.

Post mortem examinations were carried out on Tuesday January 20 at the Leicester Royal Infirmary.  Hannah had suffered a number of injuries which had resulted in her death.

Following investigations at the scene and the results of the post mortem examinations officers are satisfied at this time that they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the deaths.

The police investigation into the full circumstances surrounding the deaths is continuing and a file will be prepared for the coroner in due course.

Detective Superintendent Stuart Prior, who is leading the investigation, said: "From our enquiries we know that Hannah and Simon had lived together at a flat in Alexandra House.  Their relationship had recently ended and Hannah had moved into accommodation in Leicester whilst Simon had just moved into the address at High Leys Drive, Oadby.

"I would urge anyone who saw Hannah or Simon over the weekend or saw Simon's yellow Rover to get in touch."
