Police are appealing for witnesses after jewellery and cash were stolen during a burglary.

The incident happened sometime between 3pm and 6.20pm on Saturday, December 27 at a house in Peebles Way area of Rushey Mead.

The 45-year-old victim returned home to find £7,000 of Indian gold jewellery and cash had been stolen.

Detective Constable Glen Williams, who is investigating the incident said: "We would ask people to take a look at these pictures and see if they recognise any of the pieces of jewellery.

"Maybe you work in the second hand jewellery trade and someone has recently approached you wanting to sell items like this? Maybe you know someone who has recently acquired some Indian gold jewellery? If so we would ask you to contact us.

"You could have important information which will help with he investigation."
