Assault in Thringstone

Police are appealing for witnesses following an assault at a park on Henson's Lane in Thringstone, Coalville.

The incident happened at about 8.15pm on Sunday March 15, 2009, when a 25-year-old man walking in the park was punched and kicked by two men.

The victim ran off in the direction of Booth Road and was followed by the men. At the corner of Booth Road he was then confronted by a third man, but managed to run away.

The victim received minor injuries.    

Three men, aged 25, 23 and 19-years-old were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.  

PC Sally Holdridge, who is investigating the incident, said: "At the time of the assault there were a lot of people in the park playing football. I would urge anybody who saw what happened to contact police.

"If you did witness this incident or have any information about who may be responsible, you can also speak to Crimestoppers anonymously."
