Appeal following robbery in Glenfield
Officers in Glenfield are appealing for witnesses following the report of a robbery on a 20-year-old man on Somerset Drive.
The incident happened at around 3.15pm on Wednesday March 18, when the victim was walking along the road and approached the junction for Elm Tree Avenue where a group of young men were stood.
As he neared the group one of men he was asked by one of them for a lighter, the victim replied "no" and continued walking. Once past the group the victim was pushed in the back from behind by one of the group, causing him to fall to the floor.
This same man then threatened the victim with what appeared to be a knife, while two other men began a search of his pockets.
The four suspects then made off down Elm Tree Avenue with a small quantity of cash.
The victim obtained a minor injury to his arm but did not receive any treatment.
The first youth, who originally spoke to the victim, was described as white, aged about 18-years-old, around 5'10" tall, of an average build and had short, light brown hair. He was wearing a short sleeved white top and white tracksuit bottoms and has a local accent.
The second man, who pushed him, was described as white, again aged around 18-years-old, about 5'10" tall and of an average build. He had dark brown, shoulder length hair and was wearing a red short sleeved top and black tracksuit bottoms.
The other two men from the group were described as white and of a similar age to the others.
PC Luke Bedwell, the officer investigating the incident, said: "The victim has been left shocked and scared by the incident and this is why we are appealing to the public for help.
"At this time of day it was still very light making the possibility of someone witnessing the incident more likely.
"We would like anyone who recognises those described or who may have saw a group of men running along Elm Tree Avenue about this time to contact us."
