Officers in Loughborough are appealing for witnesses after an 18-year-old was robbed.

The robbery happened at around 10pm on Sunday May 3, as the victim was walking home along Frederick Street.

As he came to the corner of Ashby Road he was approached by two men who asked him for his wallet. One of the men then attempted to take the wallet from his pocket. When the victim tried to grab his wallet back he was hit in the face by one of the men and fell to the ground.

The two men then ran off in the direction of the flat complex on Ashby road after taking his wallet.

The brown leather wallet contained a number of cards and quantity of cash.

The victim received injuries to his face but did not attend hospital.

One of the men is described as white, aged 20 to 23-years-old and of an average build. He is said to be 6ft tall with short hair and a clean shaven appearance. He was wearing a blue and white striped jumper with light blue jeans.

The second man was also described as white, aged 20 to 23-years-old and of average build. He is around 5’8” tall, has short brown hair and was clean shaven.

Detective Constable James Harrison, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The victim has been left extremely shaken by this incident and we would like to appeal to the public for their help in finding the suspects.

“We would like anyone who was in the area at the time or who recognise those described to contact us.

“Also we would like people who were at the Ashby flat complex to think back. Can your remember seeing the incident or seeing the two men and where they went to?

“Any information you have may help us to trace these men and so we would like to encourage anyone with information to call us.”
