Officers in Wigston are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault on a 28-year-old woman.

The incident happened at around 9.30pm on Friday April 24, when the victim and her friend were approached by a group of youths on Blaby Road Park.

After a minor altercation with a girl from the group the pair left the park. The group then followed them to a road off of Lansdowne Road, and the girl then punched the victim in the face. The group then left the scene.
