Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary at a barn in Frisby on the Wreake.

The incident happened overnight between 8.30pm on Wednesday May 13 and 8.30am on Thursday May 14, when the owner of the barn discovered that the barn, on Rotherby Lane, had been broken into.

Upon investigation it became apparent that a large hole had been cut out of the barn wall to gain access and items had been taken.

From the barn a BOC cutting torch and lead had been taken along with a BOC oxygen cylinder and a BOC Acetylene cylinder.

PC Paul Anderson, the officer investigating the incident, said: “The hole cut out was very big and has caused great upset and inconvenience to the owner and we would like to appeal to anyone who may know anything about the incident.

“The items taken are quite distinctive and so we would like to ask people to be vigilant and to contact us if they know of anyone who have acquired items such as these in suspicious circumstances.

“Any information you may have, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, could help us with our investigation and so we would like you to call us.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact PC 1921 Paul Anderson on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1921.
