robbery,theft,police Boy robbed on Braunstone Lane

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 17-year-old boy was robbed on Braunstone Lane.

The incident happened between 6.45pm and 6.50pm on Friday May 8, 2009 when the victim was walking towards Leicester Forest East.

As he reached the bridge over Lubbesthorpe Way, he became aware of a group of four youths on bikes cycling towards him.

One of them asked him for a cigarette and the time before demanding he empty his pockets. He did this and when he refused to hand over his phone, a second youth approached him before snatching his phone from his hand.

The suspects made off with his Samsung G600 mobile phone on cycles along Hand Avenue.  

The first suspect is described as aged 15 to 16-years-old, around 5’8” tall, of medium build with dark or tanned skin and a clear complexion. He had black short cropped hair and was wearing a black jacket which may have been hooded and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second suspect is described as between 16 and 17-years-old, of medium build, with fair skin and blond hair. He was wearing a black hooded jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.

A 19-year-old man who had been arrested in connection with the incident has been released no further action.

PC Stu Cross, who is investigating the incident, said: "If you were in the area and saw the incident we would like to hear from you.

“If you saw the route the youths took after the robbery or perhaps know who they are, please contact us.”
