Attempted robbery in Loughborough
Officers in Loughborough are appealing for witnesses after the report of an attempted robbery.
The incident happened at around 4pm Monday March 23, when the 23-year-old victim was walking along Radmoor jitty, near to York Road.
He was then approached by two young men who asked him for the time. The victim gave them the time and continued to walk away. The pair then followed the victim and blocked his way, before asking him for his phone and money.
The victim then noticed a third man turn into the jitty and shouted to him. One of the two men then hit the victim in the face and ran off in the direction of Radmoor Road.
The man who hit the victim was described as white with a tanned and spotty complexion, aged around 18-years-old, about 5’7” tall and of a slim build. He was wearing a grey jacket and blue denim jeans.
The second man was described as white, again aged around 5’7” tall, 18-years-old and of a slim build. He was wearing a dark hooded jacket.
The man who walked down the jitty during the incident is described as black.
DC Denise Reidy, the officer investigating the incident said: “Since the incident investigations have been ongoing. The victim has returned to the UK after being out of the country and we have released this press release in the hope to gather new information.
“The victim has been left upset after the assault and we would like anyone who witnessed the incident to contact us. We are particularly interested in speaking with the man who was walking down the jetty at the time of the assault.
“Anyone with information, or who may recognise the men described, is asked to get I touch and help us with our investigation.”
