Operation Clawback hailed huge success
A massive police operation came to an end at Leicester Crown Court after the last of 16 defendants were sentenced for money laundering offences.
Codenamed Operation Clawback, the investigation followed on from Leicestershire Constabulary’s largest ever money laundering enquiry – Operation Lucky.
Both Leicestershire Constabulary and the Crown Prosecution Service have hailed the massive operation a success after securing more than £2.6 million under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
The conclusion of the criminal proceedings means that details of the three-and-a-half year investigation can now be revealed.
