Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an attempted burglary at a premises in Melton Mowbray.

The incident happened between 6.30pm on Thursday July 9 and 7am on Friday July 10, when it was discovered that the door to the premises, Ruby Red hair design on Norman Way, had been forced open.

Upon further inspection it was found that a tidy search had been made but nothing was taken.

Pc James Hirst, the officer investigating the incident, said: “We want to speak with any member of the public who has information on this burglary.

“We suspect that the suspect could have been disturbed and so this is why nothing was taken from the hairdressers. If you were in the Norman Way area on this evening or morning and can remember seeing anything suspicious, then we want you to contact us and help us with our investigation.

“Any information you have, no matter how insignificant it may seem, we want to hear it.”
