Man charged following robberies

A 25-year-old man has been charged and appearing at court today.

He has been charged with three counts of robbery, two counts of common assault, two counts of affray, two counts of theft and one count of criminal damage.

The robberies happened at business premises in Knighton Lane and Gloucester Crescent on Monday August 24, 2009.

He is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court this morning. (Thursday August 27, 2009).

A 47-year-old man arrested in connection with the incident has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
