Police are appealing for witnesses after a report of a man indecently exposing himself to three teenage girls on Sharpley Road in Loughborough.

The incident happened at about 12.50pm on Tuesday September 8, 2009, when three 17-year-old girls walking along Sharpley Road saw a man stood at the corner of Hermitage Road.

As the girls got closer to the man, he began walking towards them before indecently exposing himself as they passed by. When the girls looked back, the man had gone. It is believed he walked away along Hermitage Road.

He is described as white, in his late 30s, about 5 10 tall, clean shaven, of slim build and with short to medium length dark hair. He is described as wearing black jeans, a black top and holding a black casual jacket over his right arm.

PC Andy Varley, who is investigating the incident, said: This incident was obviously distressing for the victims and has left them quite shaken. Think back, did you see a man that matches this description, possiblyholding a coat over his arm, in the Sharpley Road and Hermitage Road area at the time?

We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or recognises the suspect from the description provided to contact police.

If you have any information about this incident or have perhaps been approached by a man in similar circumstances, then please get in touch.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 2856 Andy Varley on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 2856.

Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
