Re-appeal following collision in Lowesby
Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are re-appealing for witnesses nearly one week on from a fatal collision in Lowesby.
The incident happened shortly after 4.05pm on Tuesday October 6, on the southbound carriageway of the B6047 Melton Road.
The collision involved a silver Vauxhall Vivaro and a silver Ford Mondeo.
The 71-year old passenger of the Ford Mondeo, Mrs Barbara Pick of Melton, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, the rear seat passenger of the Mondeo and the driver of the Vauxhall Vivaro were all taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.
Detective Constable Patricia Draycott, the officer investigating the incident, said: We are hoping that this re-appeal will reach those people who witnessed the incident but havent contacted us yet.
We are particularly interested in speaking with anyone who was travelling along the B6047 towards Tilton, between 3.45pm and 4.15pm last Tuesday and would ask them to call us.
The Vauxhall Vivaro was driving along the B6047 on the northbound carriageway, travelling from Tilton on the Hill, and the Mondeo was travelling in the opposite direction when the collision happened.
Anyone with any information is asked to contact DC 4007 Patricia Draycott Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4007. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
