Police are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in the Humberstone Road area of Leicester.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm on Friday, September 25, 2009 in Sulgrave Road when the victim, 17-year-old youth, was approached by a man.

The suspect spoke to the victim before assaulting him and taking his Nokia 5800 mobile phone. He then threatened the victim with what is believed to be a knife and stole more property, including a quantity of cash, bank cards and a black Peter Storm jacket.

The man then ran off towards Uppingham Road, in the direction of St Barnabas Road.

He is described as of dual heritage, around 58 to 510 tall and between 19 and 23-years-old. He was wearing a dark green or brown hooded top and dark blue jeans.

The victim received hospital treatment for an injury to his mouth.

PC Alex Catlow, who is investigating the incident, said: This incident was unprovoked and I would urge anybody with any information to come forward.

"Think back, were you in the Sulgrave Road area that Friday night? Did you witness the incident or see a man matching the above description running towards St. Barnabas Road. If so, please contact me.

"If you know who was responsible or have any information regarding the robbery then I want to hear from you."
