Officers in Loughborough are appealing for information after an assault in the town.

The assault happened at around 11.10pm on Friday October 23, 2009 on Byron Street Extension when the 22-year-old victim was walking home with two friends after a night out.

He noticed a man on a bike involved an incident with a transit van which was driving off towards Derby Road.

The man then turned his attention towards the victim before approaching him and assaulted him. Two men who were the man also joined in the assault.

They made off along an alleyway on Byron Street Extension.

The man is described as white, about 18 to 20-years-old, around 56 to 58 tall and of medium build. He had light or ginger short shaven hair and was wearing a light coloured top with a dark shape pattern on it. He was riding a BMX bike.

The two other men are described as white. One was between 18 to 19-years-old, of a slim muscular build and wearing a brown hooded top. The other was wearing a dark blue hooded top.

PC Andy Varley, who is investigating the incident, said: We would like to hear from anybody who witnessed this assault or saw people matching this description in the area at the time.

We have had several people come forward so far with information but would still like to hear from anyone else.
