Criminal damage in Burbage and Barwell

Criminal damage in Burbage and Barwell
Police in Hinckley are appealing for witnesses following to two acts of criminal damage.
The incidents are not being linked at this stage but local officers are hoping that the residents of Burbage and Barwell may be able to help.
Both incidents happened on Friday 13 November. The first is being investigated by PC 1810 Ryan Buckland and took place sometime between 5.40pm and 7pm.
The victim parked his Alfa Romeo 155 on Azalea Drive and when he returned to it the paintwork was damaged. It appears someone had walked around the car throwing a paint-stripper like substance at the bodywork.
PC Buckland said: Weve done house to house in the area and have been making enquiries locally however, were hoping that a media appeal may bring forward more information.
The victim does not live on that street and cannot see any reason why someone would damage his car.
The person responsible would have had to have walked around the car with the paint-stripping substance to do the damage. Perhaps you remember seeing someone circling around a silver Alfa Romeo? If you have any information about this incident or the people responsible please get in touch.
The second incident happened at around 8.20pm at a house on a small road just off High Street in Barwell when the victim heard banging coming from outside his home.
When he went to investigate he found that his garage doors had been damaged and access had been gained to the garage. Nothing was taken.
Two youths were seen running from the area towards Stanley Street. Both were described as being white and in their teens.
One was wearing a dark peaked hat. The second was around 56 tall of slim build wearing dark clothing and a dark peaked hat
PC Kate Cheney who is investigating the incident said: If you saw these youths running from the area or have any information about the vandalism then please get in touch.
Anyone with any information about either of these crimes is asked to contact PC 1818 Ryan Buckland or PC 4701 Kate Cheney on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1818 or 4710 respectively. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
* Please note, some mobile phone service providers may charge for this call.
