Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a robbery in Knighton Park, Leicester.

The incident happened at about 1.30pm on Sunday November 1, when the 30-year-old victim was approached by a man as she sat on a bench near to the childrens play area.

The man asked the victim for a lighter and as she pulled a lighter from her pocket a second man approached her from behind and held her against the bench, so she could not move forward.

The first man then took the victims jewellery from her hands before she was pushed to the ground by the second man.

The two suspects then ran off.

Stolen was a white gold wedding band with a row of baguette diamonds, a white gold engagement ring with a three diamonds and a white gold eternity ring with diamonds.

A silver Pandora bracelet and silver Armani watch, with diamonds on the face, were also stolen.

The first man is described as having a tanned, stubbly complexion, possibly dual-heritage, aged between 30 and 35-years-old and of stocky build. He had fair shaved hair and was wearing a black top.

There is no description for the second man other than he was wearing black, leather gloves.

PC Aimee Farmer, the officer investigating the incident, said: The robbery left the victim feeling shocked and very shaken and we are hoping that anyone who witnessed the incident will contact us.

Maybe you walk your dog on the park or go running there? Perhaps you like to go for walks there or maybe on Sunday November 1 you just happened to go to Knighton Park? If so then we would like to ask you to think back.

Do you remember seeing the robbery? Did you see the two men involved? Did you see where they went? Do you know who they are? If so then please call us.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact PC 4526 Aimee Farmer on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 4526. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.
