Fatal road traffic collision in Skeffington
Officers from Leicestershire Constabulary's Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Skeffington.
The collision happened at around 11.22am yesterday (Sunday November 22) on the A47 Uppingham Road and involved a grey Nissan Navara and a blue and white Suzuki GSXR motorbike.
The rider of the bike, Mr Mark Elkington (29) from Glenfield, received fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 53-year-old man was arrested in connection with the incident and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Constable David Sharpe, the officer investigating the incident, said: Both vehicles were travelling in the same direction, along the A47 from Tugby, when the collision happened.
We would like anyone who witnessed the collision or the events leading up to it to contact us.
