Appeal following robbery in Tennyson Road
Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a robbery in Tennyson Road, Hinckley.
The incident happened near to the junction with Swinburne Road at about 4.30pm on Tuesday November 24, when the 18-year-old victim was assaulted and robbed by two youths.
The victim, who was with his 17-year-old girlfriend, had become involved in a verbal altercation with the youths just before the robbery.
As he and his girlfriend were walking away from them, one of the youths pushed him in the back and then punched him on the side of his head.
They both demanded the victim hand over his black Apple iPhone and then rode off on their bikes towards Clarendon Park.
The victim did not receive any injuries during the incident.
The youth who assaulted the victim is described as white, aged between 16 and 17-years-old, of slim build and is between 56 and 57 tall. He had short, dark spiky hair and was wearing black jogging bottoms, a black hooded jacket and trainers.
The second youth is also described as white, aged between 16 and 17-years-old, between 56 and 57 tall and of medium build. He had short mousey, brown hair and was wearing dark jogging bottoms and a black hooded jumper.
The boys are said to have spoken with a local accent. Both were riding mountain bikes and one of them is described as possibly being red and silver.
PC Kate Cheney, the officer investigating the incident, said: We are appealing for witnesses in the hope that new information will come to light that helps us find those responsible.
The victim felt very shaken and frightened after the incident and we hope that anyone with information will contact us.
