Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an assault in Glenfield Road, Leicester.

The incident happened at about 12.30am this morning (Tuesday December 15), when the 18-year-old victim was assaulted by a group of men near to Westfield Road.

She received injuries to her face, mouth and shoulder and was taken to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for treatment.

It is believed that the men were Asian.

PC Shaun Randall, the officer investigating the incident, said: The woman was very upset and scared after the assault and we hope that anyone who witnessed it will call us.

The victim was walking along Glenfield Road, from the direction of King Richards Road, with another woman when the incident happened. If you were in the area of Glenfield Road in the early hours of this morning we would like you to think back.

Can you remember seeing two women walking along the road? Did you see a group of Asian men in the area? Did you see where they went to following the assault? If so please call.
