Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault and robbery of a man in Granby Street, Leicester.

The incident took place on Friday, December 4, at around 7pm as the man was walking towards the train station.

The victim was approached by two men close to the Granby Street underpass, one of them punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the ground. The victims mobile phone, money and keys were then taken from him.

The victim sustained minor injuries and was later treated at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

The two men are both described as Asian and around 56 tall.

PC Waheed Nagdi, who is investigating the incident, said Think back, maybe you were on your way to the station to catch a train at that time and remember seeing something, if so wed urge you to get in touch.

We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed this assault or knows who is responsible.
