Officers in Melton are appealing for witnesses after a car was damaged in Chalmondley Drive.

The incident happened sometime between 9.30am on Wednesday January 13 and 9.30am on Thursday January 14, when the owner of the car found that two of the tyres had been slashed.

The car was parked on the pavement outside the owners home.

PC Paul Anderson, the officer investigating the incident, said: Replacing tyres can be expensive and the owner is understandably unhappy that she is going to have to foot the bill.

We would like anyone who lives in the area to have a think and contact us if they have any information about the incident. You may have looked outside and saw someone in the area acting suspiciously around a car? Maybe you saw them slash the tyres? Perhaps you recognise them and know who they are? If so, then please call us.

Anybody with any information is asked to contact PC 1921 Paul Anderson on Leicester (0116) 222 2222, follow the instructions to leave a message for a police officer and when prompted key in the officer's identification number 1921. Alternatively contact Crimestoppers, which is free* and anonymous on 0800 555 111.

* Please note, some mobile phone service providers may charge for this call.
