Officers have successfully arrested and charged a man with burglary dwelling following the reports of four distraction burglaries in Leicester.

Officers began in investigating after receiving information about a man claiming to be from Social Services to get into elderly peoples homes.

Martin Tompkins (50) was arrested on Thursday January 28 and was subsequently charged with four burglary dwellings, one attempted burglary dwelling and for breaching his bail conditions for a previous offence.

He was remanded into police custody and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates Court tomorrow.
