Officers in Melton are appealing for witnesses following the report of a burglary at a business premises in Main Street, Buckminster.

The incident happened sometime between 1.50pm and 3.55pm yesterday afternoon (Wednesday February 3) when it was discovered that the door to an outbuilding had been forced open and some gardening equipment was missing.

Upon further inspection it was found that three chain saws, three hedge trimmers, one vacuum shredder and a pole pruner had been taken. All were made by Stihl and are orange and white in colour.

PC Paul Anderson, the officer investigating the incident, said: All the equipment will have to be replaced by the company and it isnt going to be cheap. We would like anyone with information to come forward.

The burglary happened in broad daylight so this may help us in our investigation. If you live in the area or work there we would like you to think back.

Can you remember seeing anyone acting suspiciously? Did you see them take the equipment? Do you know those responsible? If so, please call us."

We would also like anyone who has been approached by someone trying to sell them items similar to those stolen, to call us.
